With 4th of July just around the corner, many residents in Spring, Texas, and the surrounding areas are wondering what they can do to show their patriotic spirit and celebrate the holiday. As the leading pool experts in Spring, Texas, Champions Pool Repair & Service knows that a pool party can be the perfect way to celebrate almost any summer holiday, so we’ve laid out some tips to help you throw the ultimate patriotic pool party:

  1. The Decorations

Whether you prefer crafting your own decorations or would rather stick with pre-made, there are many different patriotic-themed decorations to create the perfect atmosphere for your pool party. To find some great ones that are already made, check your local party store for American-themed plates, table cloths, center pieces, or anything else you might wish to decorate with. For those who would rather DIY their decorations, painted mason jars are a great way to add some rustic charm to your patriotic party. Simply paint the mason jars with red, white, and blue paint and use as the perfect utensil holder. To add some red, white, and blue to your pool, consider purchasing some patriotic pool toys for guests to play with as they swim.

  1. The Food

What pool party is complete without delicious food? Be sure to serve some delicious snacks, like watermelon slices or hamburger sliders for a perfect pool party. For dessert, try bringing the patriotic party theme into play. Serve cupcakes topped with red, white, and blue icing, or serve blueberries, strawberries, and bananas in the shape of the American flag.

  1. The Drinks

To keep your guests refreshed as they enjoy some pool time, try serving mocktails, or non-alcoholic cocktails. They’re perfect for kids and adults alike and can easily be made to fit in with the theme of your party. For a drink that’s sure to be a party hit, try making red, white, and blue layered drinks. For this recipe, you’ll need cran-apple juice, Pina Colada-flavored drinks, and blue sports drinks. To make one of these delicious drinks, add a cup cran-apple juice to an empty glass, fill the glass with ice, slowly add a cup of the Pina Colada-flavored drink, and finish by slowly adding 1 cup of the blue sports drink. To help your guests enjoy their drink in the pool, consider purchasing floating cupholders for your party.

  1. The Games

While you can certainly stick to classic pool games, there are also plenty of 4th of July themed pool games you can try out at your party this year. For a patriotic twist on a fun game, try water balloon dodge ball with red, white, and blue balloons. Simply divide into two teams and try to hit the members on the opposite team with water balloons. The last team standing wins!
